Púchov Nowadays
The town of Púchov is situated in the valley of the middle reaches of the river Váh and in the north of the Ilavská kotlina basin. Púchov is surrounded by mountain ranges called Biele karpaty, Javorníky and Strážovské vrchy.

Tyre production and textile industries have been developed in the Púchov town. Especially the Matador factory which produces tyres and conveyor belts has provided the population employment and strong entrepreneur background. Economical strength of the region has been expressed by existence of the Púchov Region Entrepreneurs Association.
Púchov is a university town as the Faculty of Industries Technologies of the Trenčín University resides here. Nowadays more than four hundred young people have been studying rubber, glass and textiles technologies in Púchov.
The town is rightly proud of its high quality sports centre. There are two sports halls, a football stadium, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts there.

Annual folk festival called Folk Púchov is one of the most important cultural events of the town.

The reconstructed Námestie slobody (Liberty Square in English) is where the traditional Púchov Fair takes place every third Saturday of September. It is a nice opportunity to see the trades and handcraft of our ancestors.

The town market in Moravska ulica street livens up by the atmosphere of Saint Nicholaus Fair every first Saturday of December.
The suburbs of Horné Kočkovce, Nosice, Hrabovka, Vieska-Bezdedov, Ihrište and Hoštiná belong to the Púchov town as well.
